Scripture Memorization Challenge: Resting in Him (Week 42)
This week’s Scripture is Hebrews 4:9 (KJV):
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Do you believe this? Do you believe that there is a rest for God’s people? Because there is. I’ve entered into it myself and there is no greater feeling than to be at rest in His presence.
What is it that you are weary from, sweet sister? Is it the things of this world? Your job? The lies of the media? Financial struggles? Marital issues? Motherhood? The enemy of your soul? I’ll bet there are a lot of things that are preventing you from entering into the rest that God has called you to. But hear this: Even though you are busy, you are never to busy to enter into the planned rest that God has predestined for each one of us.
Remember that physical rest is only one aspect of this verse. But spiritual rest – peace of mind – is a major component of whether or not the other part of rest (physical) can be fulfilled. What is it that you need to do today to get more time with the King of Kings? How can you be committed to entering into His rest? Ask Him to show you where you need rest and allow Him to give you wisdom to get there. Let’s make it a point to enter into His rest this week. And watch everything around you become less tiring and your relationship with God more powerful!
Commit this verse to memory.
Write down the things in your life that you perceive to make you the most tired. After you write your list – pray and ask God to show you where you can change up your routines to find more time with Him.
Make it a point to make some choices this week that will make you less physically tired. If you go to bed late – try heading to bed a bit earlier. If you eat a lot of sweets, try cutting back and drinking more water. There are plenty of things we can all do to help make our physical bodies more rested.
